Implant TreatmentAn implant is a surgically placed dental device designed to replace a tooth or multiple teeth with either fixed (cemented) restoration such as crowns or even removable prostheses. The intent of implant treatment is to help retain a normally unretainable prosthesis, such as a denture, due to bone loss.  Also, implants help retain surrounding bone so that bone contours last well after tooth loss.  Implant dentistry is becoming more of everyday dentistry and part of standard of care.
